My approach to pain is both targeted and comprehensive.
I use a combination of trigger point therapy, motor point acupuncture, and dry needling techniques to release tension, restore healthy muscle tissue, and improve range of motion. Treatments are designed to enhance proprioception, support proper movement patterns, and reduce strain on the body.
Distal acupuncture points and other therapeutic modalities are used to support the body systemically to address underlying imbalances, regulate the nervous system, and to promote more efficient healing and recovery.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a natural therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses ultra-thin, sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body. This helps reduce pain, improve circulation, calm the nervous system, and support the body’s natural healing response.
Cupping/Guasha
Therapies that improve circulation, release muscle tension, and support recovery. Cupping uses suction to lift and decompress tissue, while gua sha uses a scraping technique to move stagnation and target more specific areas. Both are effective for pain, tight muscles, and inflammation.
Electro Acupuncture
A modern take on acupuncture where a mild electrical current is applied to the needles. This enhances stimulation to reduce pain, relax tight muscles, and improve nerve and muscle function. It is specially helpful for injuries and chronic pain.
Tuina Medical Massage
A therapeutic, hands-on technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that works along the body’s acupuncture channels (meridians) to restore movement, reduce pain, and support overall balance. Tuina is used as a medical treatment to address specific patterns in the body, helping improve mobility, circulation, and function.
Trigger Point Therapy
A targeted technique that focuses on releasing tight, overactive muscle bands that contribute to pain and dysfunction.
The needle is placed directly into the affected muscle to create a local twitch response, helping the muscle relax, improve blood flow, and reduce both local and referred pain.
Trigger point therapy is especially effective for chronic tension, sports injuries, and pain affecting the neck, back, and joints
Moxibustion
A warming therapy that uses the herb mugwort over acupuncture points to enhance circulation and support healing. Especially beneficial for cold-type pain patterns, joint discomfort, digestion, and menstrual cycle support.
